Canada is preparing to sign a security agreement with Ukraine. According to Natalka Cmoc, Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, a draft document has already been given to the Ukrainian Office of the President.
"I am very happy to inform you that on Friday, Canada sent a copy of the [draft] agreement to Ihor Zhovkva to launch negotiations in detail so that the talks between Canada and Ukraine could be finished in a few weeks," said the ambassador in an interview with European Pravda.
Earlier, Ukraine signed an agreement on security cooperation with the United Kingdom. The agreement will be effective for ten years, or until Ukraine becomes a member of NATO. According to the agreement, Ukraine will be provided defense assistance in the event of a repeated Russian advance. Its validity period can be extended.
