On January 22, Donald Tusk, the head of the Polish government, visited Kyiv. According to Suspilne, the Prime Minister agreed with President Zelenskyi on Ukrainian-Polish joint ventures in the defense industry.
"I have accepted the declarations of President Zelenskyi that we will build joint ventures and invest in companies in Ukraine and Poland that will increase our security... It is very important for me to create the feeling that Poland is the most reliable Ukraine’s ally in this deadly fight against evil," Tusk said.
The Polish government also issued a loan to Ukraine to purchase weapons for its Armed Forces:
"There is a new Polish defense package. We appreciate such unwavering help. There is a new form of our cooperation for the sake of larger weapons purchases for Ukrainian needs — a Polish loan for Ukraine," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported.
Tusk also joined the G7 Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine, which was previously signed by the United Kingdom.
"We will also cooperate in other formats. Poland joined the G7 declaration — this declaration is intended to mobilize democratic countries to support Ukraine," Tusk wrote on X.
Earlier, on January 12, Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a 10-year security cooperation agreement. The agreement will be effective until Ukraine becomes a member of NATO.
