Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG), a German defense corporation, starts building a repair hub in western Ukraine, Marcus Faber, a member of the Bundestag of the FDP party, announced on Twitter.
"For Ukraine, this means an enormous increase in efficiency, as costly and time-consuming transport abroad will no longer be necessary in the future and the armed forces can train their mechanics directly on site," said Faber.
At this hub, Ukraine will be able to repair Leopard 1A5 battle tanks, Wisent 1 MC mine-clearing tanks, and 2A1 Dachs armored engineer vehicles, as well as launchers for IRIS-T SLS anti-aircraft missile systems.
Therefore, FFG became the third defense concern to establish its presence in Ukraine, as the German Rheinmetall and the British BAE Systems had set up joint ventures with Ukrainian Defense Industry JSC earlier.
