Ukraine and Romania agreed on joint manufacturing of ammunition, says Kamyshin

Oleksandr Kamyshin, Ukrainian Minister for Strategic Industries, and Ștefan-Radu Oprea, Romanian Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, signed a memorandum on joint manufacturing of ammunition.

Oleksandr Kamyshin reported it on Telegram.

Quote"Together with the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism of Romania, Ștefan-Radu Oprea, we signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the production of ammunition. Romania is not just our neighbor but also a strategic partner. Today, we have deepened this mutually beneficial partnership: we are developing joint production capacity. Ukraine continues to integrate into NATO's security space — in fact, this is one of the priorities for the development of the Ukrainian defense industry. And Romania’s experience is extremely important for us. Romania has come the entire way — from being one of the countries of the Eastern Bloc to full membership in NATO. This is the path Ukraine is on. And we are happy to cooperate with Romania on this path," Kamyshin writes.

Earlier, Romania pledged to create a training center for pilots of F-16 fighter jets. In April 2023, Rheinmetall, a German weapons manufacturer, also established a military logistics and maintenance center in the city of Satu Mare.

The center provides maintenance for self-propelled howitzers, Leopard 2 and Challenger tanks, Marder infantry fighting vehicles, Fuchs armored personnel carriers, and military trucks.
