On July 1, the quarantine and state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic will end, according to the Ministry of Health.
"Our doctors have done incredible work. In the darkest hours, when the world still didn’t know how dangerous COVID-19 was, when there was no vaccine and no opportunity to safeguard themselves against serious consequences of the disease, healthcare workers accepted this challenge without hesitation and continued their work," the message says.
The first case of the coronavirus disease-2019 in Ukraine, a man from Chernivtsi, was acknowledged on March 3, 2020. On March 11, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced a strict lockdown, which lasted until May 11, 2020, and closed the border. Mass vaccination started in late February 2021. As of January 2022, Covid-19 had caused the deaths of around 100,000 Ukrainians.
