The American company Apple imported its first official consignment of goods into Ukraine. This refers to more than 8,000 iPhone 13 smartphones. According to the State Customs Service, the total value of the imported goods is $7.5 million.
Self-import became possible for the American manufacturer thanks to the opening of an office in Ukraine by the company in June this year.
Context. Back in 2020, the company registered a representative office in our country, and in March 2021 Apple opened job vacancies in Ukraine.
According to the register of the Ministry of Justice, Apple's main activity in Ukraine will be the wholesale of computers, peripheral computer equipment, and software. In addition, the list includes warehousing and storage, computer programming, and trade.
Apple plans to open service centers in our country, as well as official online and offline stores.
In 2021, Apple launched the Ukrainian section of the site, although most of the content there is in English. Moreover, the company also became a member of the American Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in Ukraine and appointed a government relations specialist (GR manager).
As a reminder, in September, the Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Apple CEO Tim Cook and discussed the opening of an Apple Store in Ukraine.
