On the night of June 1, 2023, the Russian aggressors launched another overnight air raid on Kyiv. Three people were reported killed, including one child. 14 people were injured, with nine of them hospitalized.
The enemy once again used the Iskander short-range ballistic missile system to attack civilian and critical infrastructure in the Kyiv region. Air defense forces shot down 10 out of 10 missiles.
"It’s the first day of summer. World Children's Day. But Russian fascists make another attack on the capital and kill again! They kill Ukrainian children. For this attack, the aggressor likely used ground-based short-range missile systems. Therefore, the missiles didn’t fly to Kyiv from planes. The missiles were preliminarily identified as cruise and ballistic missiles (the exact number and type of the weapons are to be determined by the Air Force). According to the available information, all the detected aerial targets were neutralized by our air defense forces. Unfortunately, falling fragments caused casualties and damage!" Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported.
