National Bank opens special account raise funds for army needs

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) opened a special account to raise funds in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is reported on the website of the institution.

This decision was made due to imposing martial law in Ukraine, the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, and the danger to the state independence of Ukraine and its territorial integrity.

QuoteThe official special account details: UA84300001000000047330992708

The account is multi-currency, created and opened both for transferring funds from international partners and donors—in foreign currency (US dollars, euros, British pounds), and from Ukrainian businesses and citizens—in national currency.

Context. Today, on February 24 at 4 am, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a military operation against Ukraine. The reason was the appeal of the leaders of the so-called LDPR Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik, in which they requested him to protect them from "military aggression" from the Ukrainian state.

At 13:00, Russian military equipment went for a breakthrough of the borders of the Kyiv region, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
