Zelenskyy on coronavirus in Ukraine

The Head of State states that currently 65% of Ukrainians have not received a single dose of vaccine in Ukraine, while the same number of citizens in Europe have already been fully immunized against coronavirus. The President adds that the Ukrainian medical system is capable of making almost 400,000 vaccinations in one day and currently has more than 10 million doses of vaccines.

Zelenskyy stresses that over the two years of the war in Donbas, 146 Ukrainian servicemen have died, while over the past two days, more than 1,500 people have died from the coronavirus in the country.

«What is the population of Ukraine today? More than 40 million. What will unite all Ukrainians tomorrow so that these 40 do not turn into 20? All of them will be vaccinated.»

Zelenskyy on concentration of Russian troops near Ukrainian border

The Head of State recalls that in recent weeks, Western media have been actively disseminating information about the Kremlin's pulling in soldiers and military equipment to the border with Ukraine.

"We hear reproaches from the Russian Federation that it is Ukraine that is delaying the peace process and disrupting the meeting in the Normandy format. I hope that now the whole world clearly sees who really wants peace, and who is concentrating almost 100,000 troops on our border."

He stresses that in the eighth year of the war, such information is nothing new. He is surprised only by the fact that these actions of Moscow "suddenly became a revelation for some experts, journalists, and bloggers who raised the media fuss."

"Our army is ready to repulse anyone, anytime, and anywhere. Your panic will definitely not help it. But it can help the enemy to become a part of the information war and cause the country no less harm than the hostilities."

Zelenskyy on shortage of energy resources in Ukraine and heating prices

The Head of State advises major business and some media outlets to stop disseminating information about the lack of energy resources in Ukraine, because the state may have a "lack of angelic patience."

He explains that from year to year, in autumn and winter, certain oligarchic structures start the same game of "artificial deficit". First, information about the shortage of gas and coal is disseminated through the media, and respectively, the demand for resources and prices for them respond with increase, and "you and I" have to pay.

«I am sure that it is better not to start this game this year. Because besides your "artificial deficit", our deficit is quite real—a deficit of patience. And when the state runs out of angelic patience, a hellish period begins for someone. This can be checked. Or you can just help your state and show that the major business has not only large assets, but also great consciousness and responsibility.»

He adds that during this heating season, the heating price for Ukrainians will remain unchanged.

Zelensky on independent media and oligarchs

In his address, the Head of State thanks his predecessor, Petro Poroshenko, for proving that the law on deoligarchisation works.

«Some said that the law is in fact a fiction and it will not work. "Some" is one of the well-known oligarch politicians. Despite all his words, I sincerely thank him for the fact that the law works—on the very first day after its adoption, it was this oligarch politician who proved it: convincing everyone that he was only a politician, he courageously lost a part of himself and his media assets.»
