Russian invasion: Poland advocates Ukraine's immediate accession to EU

President of Poland Andrzej Duda stated that the country supports Ukraine's accession to the EU. This, according to him, must be done immediately.

The head of state wrote about this on Twitter.

"Poland supports an express path for membership of Ukraine in the European Union. Candidate status should be granted immediately and membership talks should start immediately after. Ukraine should also have access to EU recovery funds. This belongs to Ukraine," he wrote.

The statement came in response to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's words today that the decisive moment had come for Ukraine's admission to the EU.

Also, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that Bulgaria had signed the right to the European perspective of Ukraine. Thus, eight EU member states have already supported Kyiv's accession to the organization.

Earlier, Estonia called for granting Ukraine the status of an EU candidate and a roadmap for NATO membership. The State Assembly (Parliament) of Estonia at an extraordinary meeting passed a resolution in support of Ukraine amid Russian aggression. The deputies advocated granting Kyiv the status of a candidate for EU membership and a roadmap for joining NATO.

Recall that on February 24 at 04:50 Russian President Vladimir Putin actually declared war on Ukraine, and Russian troops began to invade the territory of our country.
