Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air will open 27 new destinations from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, and Odesa to various cities in Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, the Netherlands, France, Portugal, Italy, and the Czech Republic. Flights to most destinations are scheduled to start in spring—summer 2022. The company announced this at the press conference on October 13, the outlet Lowcost reports.
New Wizz Air destinations from Kyiv: Alicante, Barcelona, Basel, Brussels (Charleroi), Chania, Eindhoven, Madrid, Malaga, Nice, Paris (Beauvais), Palma de Mallorca, and Porto.
From Lviv it will be possible to fly to Athens, Barcelona, Brussels (Charleroi), Eindhoven, Madrid, Paris, Thessaloniki, and Venice (Treviso).
Flights to Pardubice, Rome (Fiumicino), and Thessaloniki will open from Kharkiv.
Odesa residents will be able to use the airline's services for flights to Athens, Pardubice, and London (Luton).
Context. Such a major expansion of proposals became possible due to the signing of the Common Aviation Area Agreement (Open Skies) between Ukraine and the EU.
