The state-owned company Ukrspetsexport, which is part of Ukroboronprom, has signed a framework contract with the Turkish THK Teknik A.Ş. to establish a repair base for Mi-17 helicopters in the Republic of Turkey.
The contract provides for repairs of the Turkish customers’ equipment and order fulfilment for third countries, the press service of Ukroboronprom reports.
"Cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey in the military-technical sphere has recently reached a new qualitative level and is one of the main elements of the strategic partnership between our countries," said Vadym Nozdria, Director General of Ukrspetsexport Group.
Ukrspetsexport and THK Teknik A.Ş have been in partnership since 2018. At that time a tender was won for the repair of 18 Mi-17 multipurpose helicopters of the Turkish Gendarmerie High Command.
THK Teknik A.Ş. has taken a lead in the system of maintenance of civil and military aviation of the Republic of Turkey. The company has been operating under various names since 1925 and provides a wide range of services: from maintaining aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of over 5,700 kg to repairing airframes and helicopters.
THK Teknik A.Ş. has four hangars, a number of line stations and workshops, the number of which is constantly growing. The production facilities are certified by the SHY-145 and SHY-147 permits of the Turkish Civil Aviation Directorate General.
