In 2023, Ukrainian SkyUp Airlines LLC carried 1.5 million passengers (+24% versus 2022) and operated 10,000 flights (+36% versus 2022). The Center for Transport Strategies disclosed the numbers, citing SkyUp’s internal reporting.
SkyUp paid nearly ₴200 million (more than $5 million) in taxes to the Ukrainian budget.
"The flights were operated for other airlines under ACMI leasing contracts. This means that an aircraft is leased to another airline together with its crew," SkyUp noted.
The airlines SkyUp worked with in 2023 were:
Tunisair, FlyOne, HiSky SRL, HiSky Europe SRL, Wizz Air Malta, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Corendon Dutch, Tailwind Airlines, and FlyEgypt.
The top 5 destinations for SkyUp in 2023 were:
- Moldova — 2,000 flights;
- Egypt — 1,685 flights;
- Turkey — 1,219 flights;
- Tunisia — 675 flights;
- Romania — 556 flights.
In the spring of 2023, SkyUp lost both its planes that were in Sudan during the unrest in the country. The owners of the aircraft have already received insurance payments.
In 2021, SkyUp Airlines LLC carried 2.57 million passengers, an all-time record for the company.
