The SkyUp airline continues to scale up in North America: the carrier obtained a Canadian FAOC certificate. In addition to the recently obtained FAR129 certificate for operation in the United States, SkyUp can now operate in Canada as well. The FAOC, or foreign air carrier certificate, allows the Ukrainian airline to provide ACMI services and perform charter flights from other countries to Canada, according to the company’s press service.

Quote"We are extremely grateful for the trust and support Transport Canada has given us during the approval process. We are glad to have the opportunity to work in this important market for us and to offer Canadian airlines and partners our experience and capabilities to meet the growing demand for travel," says Dmytro Seroukhov, SkyUp Airlines CEO.

SkyUp has received permits for nine aircraft in its fleet to perform international flights to Canada. These are seven Boeing 737-800 aircraft and two Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

As part of the certification, the carrier also obtained a charter permit (permission to perform non-scheduled flights) and a CBSA carrier code (a carrier code from the Canada Border Services Agency). According to the certificate received, the company can perform charter flights and provide ACMI services in Canadian airspace.
