The Ukrainian government may restrict or even prohibit the entry into the country for citizens of Great Britain, India, Russia, and Portugal. With such measures, the authorities want to prevent the spread of the delta strain of coronavirus in Ukraine. This was stated by Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to the Minister, the situation with the incidence of the Indian delta strain in these four countries is the most difficult situation. Its feature is that it is rapidly transmitted from person to person and quickly causes hospitalization. And this, in turn, becomes the reason for the rapid occupation of hospital beds, as is happening now in Russia.
Lyashko stressed that today there is no evidence that the delta strain of coronavirus has appeared in Ukraine.
Context. The delta strain of the coronavirus has already spread to 92 states. The assumption is that it has mutated from an Indian strain. According to the WHO, the delta strain is replacing the more "traditional" alpha strains of the coronavirus everywhere, as it is more resistant to treatment, deadly and pathogenic.
