AFU hit Russian frigate Admiral Makarov near Zmiinyi Island

An explosion followed by a fire occurred on board the Russian frigate of the project 11356Р type Burevestnik near Zmiinyi Island (literally: Snake Island). Presumably this is the frigate Admiral Makarov.

According to preliminary information, the ship was hit by the Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship system, Dumska reports.

Rescue boats were sent from the temporarily occupied Crimea to help the enemy ship. Enemy aircraft are now circling over this area of the Black Sea.

There is no accurate data on what exactly caused the damage of the invaders' ship, as well as data on which of the three frigates of this type in the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation was damaged. Information about the explosion on the ship appeared on social media last night, May 5. Today a confirmation was received that the incident had actually happened.

The circumstances of another damage of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea are being investigated. Presumably, the frigate Admiral Makarov was hit by the Ukrainian anti-ship missile Neptune.
