Denys Kostrzhevskyi, head of the Board of Directors of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport, also announced a drop in ticket prices, the press service reported. According to him, the signing of the Agreement is beneficial to the Ukrainians, since at the first stage it will lead to lower prices for air tickets and expansion of routes.
"The signing of the Agreement will be really beneficial for Ukraine only when Ukrainian airlines are equal in technical and financial indicators with European ones. And just as the Ukrainian market will open to European airlines, the European market should open to Ukrainian ones. Only with such a parity does it make sense to say that Ukraine benefits from the "Open Skies", he noted.
At the same time, the online newspaper Ain.ua explains that cheaper air tickets will be possible due to increased competition in markets that have restrictions (during the first stage of liberalization, all restrictions for Ukrainian and EU airlines on flights between any cities of Ukraine and the EU will be lifted), and after that the airlines will start a price war. But it is noted that if a weak player leaves some line, the remaining participants can raise prices again to compensate for their previous expenditures.

The Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov also reacted to the prompt full-fledged entry of Ukraine into the EU aviation area. According to him, this will lead to an increase in social, economic and tourist interaction with the EU countries, the press service of the department quotes him.
"It is about the full-fledged entry of Ukraine into the common air space of the EU with the obligatory implementation of European standards and regulations in the field of air transportation. The elimination of market restrictions means the growth of social, economic and tourism interaction between the EU and Ukraine."

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) spoke about the benefits for Ukrainian carriers. As the company informed the Interfax-Ukraine agency, Ukrainian airlines currently have no problems obtaining permits for flights to European countries, but to talk about the advantages of entering the "open skies", one needs to study the text of this document.
"Ukrainian carriers could benefit from, in particular, guaranteed convenient slots at key European airports and the right to operate flights between European countries. However, there is still no clear understanding of the possibility of the Ukrainian airlines flights within the EU," the company said, adding that the signing of the Agreement is important, as it will be an additional impetus for the resumption of the opportunity for Ukrainians to freely travel to EU countries for tourism purposes.
Context. On the eve, on June 28, it became known that the EU Council approved the signing of the Agreement on the Common Aviation Area. This is the last stage before the signing of the Agreement that is also called the Agreement on the "open skies". It is planned to do this in the fall of 2021.
