The fifth president of Ukraine, and now MP Petro Poroshenko (European Solidarity) crossed the border of Ukraine with Poland on the third attempt. This is reported by Ukrainska Pravda with reference to interlocutors in law enforcement agencies.
On the way to Rotterdam, Poroshenko appealed to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He assured that the opposition, together with the authorities, is working to strengthen Ukraine.
"Amid an external threat, it is extremely important to maintain the unity and coordination of our efforts, avoid any internal strife and work together on all possible international platforms, especially such significant ones as the European People’s Party," the MP wrote.
According to Poroshenko, he is heading to the congress and summit of the European People's Party in Rotterdam. There, the MP plans to discuss granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership, the need to provide more weapons and sufficient financial assistance during the war, and the "Marshall Plan 2.0" for post-war recovery.
"And today all of us together Ч the authorities, the opposition, and civil society — are working to develop a strong, independent, democratic, and prosperous European Ukraine," the MP stressed.
Context. On May 27 and 28, Poroshenko tried to leave Ukraine on a business trip to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, but he was not allowed to leave the country. According to his circle, allegedly due to the lack of all the necessary documents.
