Ukrzaliznytsia has lost 9 billion UAH on passengers. When will ticket prices go up

Losses of Ukrzaliznytsia from passenger traffic at the end of 2020 amounted to 8.7 billion UAH, increasing by 26%.

This was announced by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company Volodymyr Zhmak at a press conference, reports the agency Interfax-Ukraine, adding that the passenger traffic last year decreased by 56%—to 68 million passengers.

When will train tickets rise in price

As The Page had previously reported, train ticket prices would rise by 2% monthly from March-April 2021.

According to the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kriklii, if you buy tickets in advance, you can get up to 40% discount.

Context. Last year, Ukrzaliznytsia announced that it planned to raise the cost of passenger transportation from March 1, 2021.
