Kryklii also added that if you buy tickets in advance, you can save up to 40% on them.
Safety in Ukrzaliznytsia trains
Ukrzaliznytsia is working to improve the level of safety when transporting passengers on suburban railways. According to the head of the company Volodymyr Zhmak, it is about the installation of surveillance cameras and a "red button" to call law enforcement officers. He told about this on the air of the TV channel Ukraine 24, the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reports.
"If we are talking about electric trains, now we are already modernizing them, and that includes the surveillance cameras that allow the train-driver to monitor the situation in the electric train cars. My goal is to bring passengers back to our trains, take them away from passenger vehicles and bring them back to trains that will be comfortable," he explained.
It should be noted that previously, only long-distance passenger trains were equipped with video surveillance cameras.
A rapid "red button" will be installed in the train-driver's cabs. With its help the driver will be able, in appropriate situations, to call law enforcement officers to the next station along the route.
Ukrzaliznytsia will operate on the territory near the Crimea
According to Zhmak, Ukrzaliznytsia is working to restore rail links with the territories that border the Russian-occupied Crimea peninsula. He told about this on the air of the TV channel Ukraine 24.
"We are working to restore links with the territories adjacent to Crimea. Unfortunately, we cannot enter Crimea itself," Zhmak said, adding that from a humanitarian and economic point of view, it is unprofitable for the company to terminate passenger traffic with territories uncontrolled by Ukraine and Russia, since the company has lost transit cargo and passenger traffic, and that affects its economic performance.
Luggage control at Ukrzaliznytsia
On the air of the TV channel Ukraine 24, Zhmak also said that Ukrzaliznytsia would strengthen control over the luggage allowance observance by passengers.
"Luggage allowances are regulated. Now we will pay more attention to ensuring that these norms are met. Because the transportation of unpaid luggage also causes us losses," he said, adding that the conductor should control the transportation of luggage, and the passenger car attendant should monitor compliance with the norms.
Ukrzaliznytsia high-speed trains
The day before, it also became known that Ukrzaliznytsia has a project for organizing railway communication at a speed of up to 350 km/h from Kyiv to the largest regional cities of Ukraine, in particular to Lviv, Kharkiv, and Odessa.
According to Zhmak, the project is being discussed and the search for investors is underway because implementation requires investment. You can read more about the project here.
