UN to provide food and financial aid to almost 50,000 residents of Kharkiv Oblast

49,000 residents of Kharkiv Oblast will soon get assistance from the UN. This is evidenced by the memorandum signed by the leadership of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration with the office of the UN World Food Programme.

This refers to both the provision of food to the inhabitants of Kharkiv Oblast and financial assistance. So far, the regional authorities have not specified when exactly it will be provided. It is known that monetary and food aid from the UN will be given to persons recorded in the register of the Ministry of Social Policy.

Separately, Oleh Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (RSA), noted that food packages for providing aid are purchased from Ukrainian manufacturers. Their packaging and shipping will also be handled by domestic companies.

Context. Russian troops continue shelling Kharkiv and the civilian population of the region.
