Google received a fine of 1 million UAH from the Antimonopoly Committee (AMCU).
The reason was the failure to provide information by the company for more than a year. This is stated in the message of the Committee.
The AMCU noted that they were investigating the case of blocking the individual entrepreneur's account in the application Google My Business.
However, the company did not provide the information requested by the Committee, which is why the regulator was unable to consider the case on a possible violation of the legislation on economic competition protection.
Context. In February 2021, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading a draft law obliging Google, Netflix, Facebook and other foreign tech giants to pay taxes in Ukraine.
