PzH 2000, Gepard, MARS II rocket launchers, and Iris-T air defense systems: the list of weapons to be given to Ukraine by Germany

The German government published the list of lethal and non-lethal military aid expected to be sent to Ukraine to counter the Russian invasion. It includes supplies from both Bundeswehr depots and the German industry, which will be financed through the Federal Government's Enable & Enhance Initiative. The government increased the total funding for the initiative to €2 billion for this year.

Germany announced the following weapons to be given to Ukraine:

  • 53 thousand rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition;
  • 8 mobile ground-based radars and thermal imaging devices;
  • 3 self-propelled howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000;
  • 4 thousand rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition for practicing;
  • 10 (+10 optional) autonomous unmanned surface vehicles;
  • 14 semi-trailer trucks and 14 semi-trailers;
  • 2 tractors and 4 trailers;
  • 43 reconnaissance UAVs;
  • 1 high-frequency unit with associated equipment;
  • 10 armored vehicles;
  • 7 radio jammers and 8 electronic anti-drone devices;
  • 4 mobile, remote-controlled and protected mine clearing systems;
  • 65 fridges for medical material;
  • 1 vehicle decontamination system;
  • 54 M113 armored personnel carriers with armament;
  • 30 GEPARD anti-aircraft tanks including circa 6 thousand rounds of ammunition;
  • IRIS-T SLM air defense system;
  • COBRA counter-battery radar system;
  • 80 pickup trucks;
  • 3 MARS multiple rocket launchers with ammunition;
  • 100 thousand first aid kits;
  • 3 Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicles.

Context. The Spanish Ministry of Defense said that it was willing to give Ukraine 10 Leopard 2A4 tanks and 20 M113 APVs because of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine.
