According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Urusky, such a decision was made by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

«We actually have a window to launch the spacecraft in December with the help of a foreign operator—in this case it is SpaceX, with whom we are now cooperating in terms of the compatibility of the spacecraft with the carrier rocket.»

Urusky added that the work with SpaceX is going on intensively and whether it is possible to match the Ukrainian satellite with the company's carrier rocket will become clear in the near future.

"Today the satellite is almost ready. It requires a final analysis and operational checks of technical readiness for launch," he said, adding that he personally visited the enterprise Yuzhmash enterprise in Dnipro, where he checked the real state of the spacecraft.

UPDATE. The statement of the Minister of Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky about the satellite Sich 2-1 is not true.

This is stated in the report of the State Space Agency (SSA).

"The manipulations and incompetence of officials in relation to the launch of the satellite Sich 2-1 discredit not only the country's top officials, but also the space industry as a whole," is stated in the report.

The agency believes that such statements threaten the completion of work on the satellite and "insinuate doubts about the institutional ability of the authorities to carry out the functions assigned to them."

The SSA added that they are doing "everything possible" to launch the assigned to Sich 2-1 in the year of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

Context. Earlier, Zelensky invited Musk to visit the Serhiy Pavlovych Korolyov Museum of Cosmonautics in Zhytomyr.
