Activities in Ukraine’s east are the main operational task of the invaders, said Andrii Yusov, an officer of Ukrainian Defense Intelligence.
According to him, the latest increased activity of Russian troops shouldn’t be compared with the full-scale invasion that occurred in early 2022.
"We can see that they are unable to accomplish their tasks, but that doesn’t mean they won’t try again. The enemy has reserves, and they have accumulated personnel. However, they have problems with equipment and ammunition," Yusov noted.
The officer explained that by attacking Vuhledar and Bakhmut, the Russians strive to prevent the offensive of Ukrainian forces in the near future.
Previously, Defense Intelligence reported that the Russian army's new offensive's goal was to seize Donbas, but there was also a threat on other axes.
