Defense Intelligence explained Russia’s new offensive in Ukraine’s east

The goal of the new offensive of the Russian army is to seize Donbas, but there’s also a threat on other axes. Andrii Yusov, a representative of Defense Intelligence, said it on Thursday, February 9, on the air of the national telethon.

Quote"There will be an escalation. The primary goal is Donbas. Other axes can also be affected, but it’s about diverting our forces... We understand that there’s an ongoing mobilization on Russian territory. The horde is expanding. Over 300,000 of them are now on Ukrainian territory, and some are still training. However, quality is another story. The highest-quality units and equipment have already been incapacitated or destroyed. They won’t manage to prepare an adequate replacement during this time," Yusov said.

According to him, besides the east, there can also be an assault from Belarus or in the direction of the Odesa region.

Quote"Speaking about a classic landing operation, such a threat also exists. It’s either from Belarus or a naval landing operation, speaking of Odesa. Can they make such a decision? They probably can. Such a decision would be suicidal for Russian fascists. Such landing troops would be neutralized on the territory of Ukraine very quickly," Yusov asserted.

Earlier, we reported that Putin had ordered to seize the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions by March. According to Defense Intelligence, there are signs showing that Russia is preparing for a new attempt at a massive assault to seize Ukraine’s east.
