Vladimir Putin ordered the capture of the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions by March. According to Defense Intelligence, there are signs that Russia is planning a new massive assault to seize Ukraine's east.
"We observe the Russian occupation forces redeploying additional assault groups, units, weapons, and equipment to the east. According to Ukrainian Defense Intelligence, Putin ordered the capture of the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions by March," said Andrii Cherniak, a representative of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence.
The official has also said that Russia is using the territory of Belarus’ to train mobilized soldiers and lacks the combat power to begin a massive assault on Ukraine from there in the coming weeks.
"At this point, no attack groups have been formed there. There is no threat of Belarus involvement in Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but there certainly are risks that we have to consider," the intelligence officer said.
Earlier, the deputy head of Defense Intelligence said that the date of the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine would be possible to forecast at the end of next spring or in early summer.
