Passports of vaccination against coronavirus should be earned in Ukraine from July 1, 2021.
According to the Chairperson of the National Technical Group of Experts on Immunoprophylaxis under the Ministry of Health Fedir Lapii, the implementation of electronic certificates that will make it easier for Ukrainians to travel to the EU countries is proceeding as planned and not only the Ministry of Health is involved in this. He stated this on the air of the TV channel Dim.
"There is an action plan to launch this system on July 1. Not only the Ministry of Health implements such electronic certificates. Because, for instance, it is impossible without the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since agreements are being carried out at the international level as well. So far, I see no reason for concern," he said, adding that the entry for those who have not been vaccinated will not be closed. They will be able to do a PCR test, a rapid test, or self-isolate.
At the same time, he called the availability of vaccination and a certificate "additional freedom", specifying that the validity of the certificate will depend on the number of vaccine doses. The point is that most vaccines involve two doses. But Lapii suggested that in a year a regulation could be imposed that an additional dose would be needed.
He also added that after returning to Ukraine, citizens will be able to use the same certificate and not do a PCR test, but so far there is no such function.
Context. Earlier, the European Council recommended that EU countries allow entry to all tourists fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with one of the currently approved vaccines.
