Restoration of the An-225 Mriya (Dream from Ukrainian) will be in accordance with current and future standards of suitability in the field of aviation. Some of the joints can be restored, the initial funds for the restoration have already come to the account of the enterprise.
This was reported by the Antonov press service.
"There are some basic assemblies for a glider. However, the new Mriya must meet modern and promising standards of airworthiness, as well as be equipped in accordance with the list of tasks that it will perform," said the press service of the company.
The restoration of the An-225 will require a large amount of design and engineering work, the purchase of appropriate components and a test program.
"Undoubtedly, this project will be implemented in a broad international cooperation with the participation of leading companies and enterprises of the global aviation industry," Antonov clarified.
The amount of funding and the selection of the necessary components will be determined by a special commission of the state concern Ukroboronprom.
"Sources of funding will also be determined by the state. The funds already received by the fund will be used exclusively for the implementation of the project to restore the aircraft.
Antonov noted that it is too early to talk about the timing of restoration, because the program must be carefully worked out.
Recall that during the combat in the north-western direction from Kyiv, a unique An-225 aircraft at the Kyiv-Antonov-2 airfield in Hostomel was destroyed. The destruction occurred during the battle with Russian enemy troops landings at the airfield.
