With the current percentage of hospitalizations, during the third wave of coronavirus in Ukraine, the catastrophic incidence rate will be 35,000-40,000 new cases per day.
This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by the Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Public Health, Medical Assistance and Medical Insurance, Mykhailo Radutsky.
If at the beginning of the epidemic there was a disaster for us with 5,000 infected people per day, in autumn there was a disaster with 25,000, then today, according to the Minister of Health, 35,000-40,000 per day with the current percentage of hospitalizations (an increase of 40-60%.—Ed. )".

The People's Deputy also recalled that the third wave of COVID-19 is characterized by a high percentage of hospitalizations.
Context. Shortly before the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, said that previously two out of ten patients with coronavirus had needed hospitalization, now this figure reached seven out of ten. He also stated that if a collapse of the medical system occurs in Kyiv, a state of emergency may be introduced in the capital.
