Ukraine currently does not plan to announce additional mobilization because of Russia's decision to draft reservists. This was stated by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podoliak, in an interview with the German TV channel ARD.
According to him, Ukraine’s government has a sensible approach toward mobilization, unlike the Russian Federation, which is piling on "cannon fodder", in particular, in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
"We have already created reserves through the territorial defense system and will actively use these reserves. We do not have to announce additional mobilization today. We have everything, and we are ready for more Russian troops," Podoliak noted.
At the same time, he reminded that the Russian military destroys mainly civilian infrastructure, critical infrastructure, and the civilian population in Ukraine.
Context. The Verkhovna Rada has amended the procedure for reserving those exempt from military service for the period of mobilization and wartime.
