Cabinet has extended quarantine until autumn and relaxed it: what restrictions will be in force

The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the adaptive quarantine in Ukraine until August 31, 2021. By the decision of the government, a "green" level of epidemic danger was imposed throughout the country.

Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal promised that quarantine restrictions would be relaxed again. In particular, while the "green" level of epidemic danger is in force throughout Ukraine, the control of self-isolation via Vdoma, the application of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, will not be carried out. And that will allow the application to be updated.

«As of June 10, a "green" level of epidemic danger is in force in Ukraine, and that allows to mitigate anti-epidemic restrictions. The government will officially extend quarantine today until August 31 of this year.»

The "green" level of epidemic danger implies maintaining the mask regime in public places, transport and during public events.

In addition, the work of the following establishments is permitted:

  • restaurants, cafes, bars;
  • night clubs;
  • cinemas;
  • holding mass events while maintaining the mask regime.

However, if the situation worsens, the regions will again be moved to different quarantine zones, depending on the epidemic situation.

Restrictions in the "yellow" zone

Restrictions in the "yellow" quarantine zone are slightly stricter than in the "green" one. In such regions it is allowed to:

  • to hold mass events if 4 square meters of the area are allotted for one person or the hall is 50% full;
  • to visit educational institutions in groups of no more than 20 people;
  • the presence of spectators in the stands during sports events, with restrictions;
  • the work of catering establishments until 00:00.

Restrictions in the "orange" zone

Even more severe restrictions apply in the "orange" zone. Getting into it is a signal to business, local authorities, and regulatory authorities that a "red" level can be imposed.

The "orange" quarantine zone is imposed when at least one of the indicators is exceeded:

  • bed occupancy is more than 75%;
  • a low number of tests for coronavirus in the region;
  • a large number of hospitalizations;
  • detection of diseases by PCR method is more than 20%;
  • an increase in the number of hospitalizations.

In such regions, "yellow" zone restrictions apply. However, the following are additionally imposed:

  • prohibition of the activities of accommodation establishments: hostels, tourist centers, etc., except for hotels;
  • activities of entertainment establishments and restaurants at night;
  • planned hospital admissions;
  • acceptance of new sessions in children's camps; work of gyms, fitness studios, cultural institutions;
  • a restriction is imposed for mass events: 1 person per 20 sq. m and no more than 100 people.

Restrictions in the "red" zone

The "red" quarantine zone is characterized by severe restrictions. They are imposed if there is a threat of the healthcare system collapse. To move to this zone, two out of five indicators must be exceeded for three consecutive days.

In such regions the following will be closed:

  • schools;
  • restaurants and shopping centers;
  • cinemas;
  • theaters;
  • educational institutions (except for kindergartens and primary schools);
  • food markets and other establishments.
