In Ukraine, work on a multi-purpose drone with a 1,000-km flight range will be completed by the end of the year. According to Speka, by that time it will be available for use in combat.
The new Ukrainian drone is currently undergoing the final step of development.
According to Oleh Boldyriev, a representative of Ukroboronprom, the UAV successfully passed the first tests.
"It took off and it landed… It’s a heavy vehicle — its take-off weight is over 200 kg. It was developed to the specifications General Valerii Zaluzhnyi gave us in early August," Boldyriev said.
He affirmed that the newly developed UAV will be presented to the public and even to the Armed Forces by the end of the year.
As was stated earlier, the new long-range drone developed by Ukroboronprom is a multifunctional UAV capable of operating as an attack drone, carrying out aerial reconnaissance, and adjusting artillery fire.
Context. Ukroboronprom announced a new development in October. Then, the state-owned concern didn’t disclose any details. Presumably, the development was the aforementioned multi-purpose drone.
