Biden: "Putin met a wall of strength—the Ukrainian people"

On March 1, U.S. President Joe Biden delivered his annual State of the Union Address to Congress. He started from Ukraine.

"Six days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin sought to shake the very foundations of the free world, thinking he could make it bend to his will. But he badly miscalculated. He thought he could roll into Ukraine and the world would roll over. Instead, he met with a wall of strength he never imagined. He met the Ukrainian people," Biden noted.

The President assured that the United States stands with the Ukrainian people. Indeed, throughout its history, the country has learned a lesson: when dictators do not pay the price for aggression, they increase chaos and keep moving.

"We are countering Russia. Putin is now isolated from the world more than he has ever been. Together with our allies, we are imposing powerful economic sanctions. We cut off the largest Russian banks from the international financial system and do not allow the Central Bank of Russia to support the Russian ruble. We block Russia's access to technologies, and that will undermine its economic strength and weaken its army in the coming years," the U.S. president continued.

He further stated that the U.S. Department of Justice is convening a special working group to investigate the crimes of Russian oligarchs. "We are joining our European allies to find and eliminate their yachts, their luxury apartments, their private jets. We're coming for you and your illicit wealth!" Biden threatened.

The USA has closed its airspace to Russian aircraft.

Biden stressed: "Our forces do not come into conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine. Our troops are going to Europe not to fight in Ukraine, but to protect our NATO allies if Putin decides to continue moving west."

"Putin can encircle Kyiv with tanks, but he will never gain the hearts and souls of the Ukrainian people, he will never extinguish their love of freedom. He will never weaken the resolve of the free world," the President of the United States beautifully closed this part of his address to Congress.

Recall that on February 24 at 04:50 Russian President Vladimir Putin actually declared war on Ukraine, and Russian troops began to invade the territory of our country.
