President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he had got the information about a coup d'etat in Ukraine being prepared and the alleged involvement of Rinat Akhmetov in it. Despite this, Zelenskyy noted that he "does not believe in coups." He stated this at a press marathon devoted to the equator of his cadence.

QuoteWe got the information that on the first of the month there would be a coup d'etat in our state. December 1-2... This is not only an intelligence information, but also an audio, where representatives of Ukraine, let's say, with representatives of Russia, let's say, are discussing Rinat Akhmetov's participation in the coup d'etat in Ukraine. That a billion dollars will be involved, etc. I believe that this is a reason, an insult to Akhmetov, he is being involved into the war against the state of Ukraine. I believe that he started it, I think that it will be his big mistake, because one cannot fight against their people and the president they have elected. I believe that his surroundings are drawing him into such a war... " the President said.

Zelensky noted that he was very calm about this information and believed that Akhmetov may not even know about it. The President invited the businessman to Bankova Street or to the relevant authorities to familiarize himself with the records.

Quote"I want to say that I am not Yanukovych, I will not run anywhere. And not Poroshenko, I will not get up on the bulldozer on the day of death of the Heavenly Hundred... I will wait on these days for everyone who is gathering. I will work at Bankova," Zelenskyy added.

He also added that the "media war" allegedly launched by Akhmetov was a response to the law on deoligarchisation and that "it is wrong when a businessman is fighting against the state".

Context. The Office of the President associates the increase in the amount of criticism of the authorities on the channels owned by Rinat Akhmetov with the adoption of the anti-oligarchic law, while Akhmetov believes that this is "a question for the authorities," and not for him.
