Unemployment in Ukraine exceeded 10%—State Statistics Service

In the Q1 of 2021, the number of unemployed people amounted to 1.8 million.

At the same time, the number of employed people aged 15 years and over amounted to 15.5 million people, and those aged 15–70 years—15.4 million people, according to the results of the labor force study of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

According to the agency, the employment rate of the population aged 15 and over amounted to 48.6%, and that of the population aged 15-70—55%.

The unemployment rate among Ukrainians aged 15 and over amounted to 10.4%, and among those between 15 and 70 years old—10.5%.

Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine worsened the forecast of the unemployment rate in the country according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization. The forecast for 2021 has been downgraded to 9.1% compared to 8.8% expected by the NBU in January.
