Deported Ukrainians are forced to take citizenship of pseudo-republics under threat of reprisals

The deported Ukrainians are forced to take the citizenship of the pseudo-republics of the so-called L/DPR, in case of refusal they are promised reprisals. This is reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR in Ukrainian) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on its Telegram channel.

In the temporarily occupied city of Sorokine (Luhansk region), passports of the so-called LPR are issued to Ukrainian citizens displaced from the recently occupied territories. People are deprived of houses, property and money. Therefore, they are forced to agree to these conditions, because it is the only possible way to get payments in rubles, food packages, and medical care.

The GUR says that "preventive conversations" are held with people. It is reported that in case of refusal of the pseudo-republic citizenship, people will lose any livelihood and repressive measures will be applied to them.

Currently, most of the employees of the so-called "law enforcement agencies of the LPR" have been sent to the combat zone in the territory of the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. And the hastily conscripted "recruits" have practically no military service experience.

Therefore, in particular, from May 1, the patrol units of the "LPR People's Militia" are forced to stop checking cars and personal documents at checkpoints near Sorokine.
