The Yermak-McFaul International Working Group On Russian Sanctions prepares new sanctions against the suppliers of components for the Russian Lancet and Orlan drones. Andrii Yermak, head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, announced the restrictions on Telegram.

Quote"The Lancet is one of the key pieces of equipment used by the enemy on the frontline against our armored vehicles, air defense systems, radars, and more. The same is true for other devices produced by ZALA AERO. Orlan is a reconnaissance drone, which detects positions and adjusts fire," he noted.

Ukraine has already imposed sanctions on Aleksandr Zakharov, the owner and developer of ZALA AERO. The work to ensure restrictions by the West is ongoing. Thus, Ukrainian, European, American, and Australian sanctions have already been introduced against ZALA AERO GROUP, LLC, the company’s primary entity.

According to Yermak, the Lancet drone was reported to contain at least 19 foreign-made electronic components. The Russian Orlan drone also contains them.

Quote"In the near future, the Yermak-McFaul Group will present a document with concrete propositions on sanctions to prevent the supply of microelectronics, machines, and other equipment required for the production of drones, as well as chemicals and other materials," the president’s chief of staff noted.

Ukraine also works on sanctions targeting Russian radars and electronic warfare systems, which are also heavily dependent on imported components.
