Booster vaccinations in Ukraine. Liashko explains when the third round of vaccinations to begin

In Ukraine, the third round of vaccination against covid-19 will begin as soon as this decision is officially approved in the European Union. The third dose can be given nine months after full vaccination.

The outlet RBC-Ukraine reports this referring to the words of the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.

"We are technically ready and plus the availability of vaccines also means that we can launch a booster dose at any time and expand the age category," the Head of the Ministry of Health said.

According to Liashko, the EU proposes to administer a booster dose nine months after the first course of vaccination against coronavirus.

"If the scientists' proposal is accepted, approved at the parliamentary level, then we will be ready to repeat it all on the territory of Ukraine," Liashko stated.

Viktor Lyashko reported that the third anti-covid vaccine in Ukraine would most likely be made with the drug Comirnaty produced by Pfizer / BioNTech from January-February 2022.

Earlier, WHO opposed the third "booster" vaccination against COVID-19, seeking to provide the widest possible number of the population with a compulsory course of vaccination.
