Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen discussed further support and the prospects for the 11th sanctions package against Russia. Zelenskyy reported this on his official accounts on social media.
"We look forward to the announcement of the interim verbal assessment of Ukraine's progress in implementing the European Commission's recommendations this week," the president noted.
The international partners talked on the eve of the Ukraine Recovery Conference to be held in London on June 21–22. At the conference, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with 17 development finance institutions on collaboration when making co-investments in Ukraine, mainly in the private sector.
EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso plans to sign the document on Wednesday, June 21, according to the bank’s press release. This will be the next step after the commitment in May by the EBRD and the development finance institutions from the G7 countries to establish a common Ukraine Investment Platform.
The Bank will also host several events in the British capital on June 20–22, which will focus on gender equality, energy, and the investment climate in Ukraine.
