According to Energoatom, the blowing up of the Kakhovka dam by the Russian fascists can have a negative impact on the Zaporizhzhia NPP, but the situation is under control.
Due to detonation, the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir is rapidly decreasing, which is an additional threat to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP.
"Water from the Kakhovka reservoir is necessary for the plant to power its turbine capacitors and safety systems. The plant’s cooling pond is currently full: as of 8:00 a.m., the water level was 16.6 m, which is sufficient for the plant’s needs," Energoatom emphasizes
Energoatom is monitoring the situation and watching the actions of the invaders at the Zaporizhzhia NPP together with other international organizations at the plant, including the IAEA.
