On Monday, August 29, the Russian invaders targeted an evacuation base of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in Sloviansk with artillery fire. This was reported by a member of the organization, Taras Lohinov.
According to him, Russian fascists fired 152 mm artillery. Four hits on the base were recorded. The attack destroyed a building and three cars. No casualties were reported.
According to Loginov, on the Sloviansk base, a group of volunteers was stationed, which has been evacuating the injured and sick, as well as supplying locals with drinking water, blankets, and food since April 18.
"This place was rented by the International Committee of the Red Cross until September 1, 2022... On all maps, this place has been marked as the residence of the Red Cross, and Russian commanders knew about it. There were no military objects neither on the vase itself nor in the vicinity. Nevertheless, four shells exploded on our base," the post says.
Context. At the beginning of this month, the International Committee of the Red Cross officially stated that it gave no safety guarantees to Ukrainian prisoners of war who left Azovstal. The organization said that it informed both the Ukrainian and the Russian sides about it.
