On Thursday morning, August 18, the Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kharkiv. As a result of the shelling, one person died and 18 others were injured. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

Quote"The invaders launched missile strikes on Kharkiv again. The hits resulted in a few fires. All specialized services are working on the ground," Syniehubov said.

At the same time, the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, said that a total of five hits were recorded. The Slobidskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts were shelled. A large-scale fire broke out in the Kholodnohirskyi district after the shelling — an administrative building was set on fire.

In addition, a few hours before, on late Wednesday evening, August 17, Russian troops targeted a residential building in the Saltivskyi district, causing a strong fire.

Later, it became known that the occupiers targeted a rooming house where people with hearing problems could stay. There are 7 confirmed deaths and 13 wounded. The search for the victims continues.

Quote"A missile strike... On a rooming house... The building was completely destroyed. We are establishing the exact number of dead and wounded. A vile and cynical attack on civilians, which has no justification and demonstrates the powerlessness of the aggressor," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the Russian attack.
