Zhytomyr region became the best for doing business in 2020, the worst was Mykolaiv region.
This is stated in the ranking Regional Doing Business—2020.
The following regions became the most comfortable for doing business:
- Zhytomyr;
- Chernihiv;
- Rivne;
- Vinnytsia;
- Ivano-Frankivsk;
- city of Kyiv.
According to the research, the Zhytomyr region won because it received high scores for the components "Starting a business", "Registration of a land plot", and "Connection to the power grid". At the same time, it received a bad result in terms of "Electronic services".
The last lines in the ranking 2020 were taken by the following regions:
- Kyiv (was researched separately from the capital);
- Luhansk (the research was limited to the city of Severodonetsk);
- Kharkiv;
- Kherson;
- Khmelnytska;
- Mykolaiv.
Among the regional centers, the rating changed the most in:
- Zaporizhzhia (+10 steps);
- Chernivtsi (+6 steps);
- Kropyvnytskyi (-5 steps);
- Kherson (-5 steps);
- Khmelnitskyi (-8 steps);
- Mykolaiv (-11 steps).
The assessment was carried out according to the adapted methodology of the World Bank based on a survey of Ukrainian entrepreneurs.1754 respondents from 25 regions and the city of Kyiv took part in it.
The rating is determined by the sum of scores obtained by the regional center in six components: "Starting a business", "Paying local taxes", "Registration of a land plot", "Connecting to power grids", "Obtaining building permits", and "E-services".
