Eight Ukrainian universities were included in the world ranking of the best universities. For the first time, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv was included there. Altogether, there are 1300 universities in the ranking.
This is stated in the QS World University Rankings 2022.
For the first time, such a number of Ukrainian universities was included in the ranking; in 2020 and 2019 there were six of them.
Ukrainian universities ranked among the best in the world
- V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University—rank 510-520,
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv—rank 601-650,
- National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute"—rank 651-700,
- National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute"—rank 701-750,
- Sumy State University—rank 701-750,
- Lviv Polytechnic National University—rank 801-1000,
- National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy—rank 1001-1200,
- Ivan Franko National University of Lviv—1001-1200.
The top 3 best universities according to the QS World University Rankings 2022 include:
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT);
- University of Oxford, Great Britain;
- Stanford University and University of Cambridge.
Universities were assessed according to five key indicators:
- academic prestige;
- reputation among employers;
- the ratio of teachers and students;
- citing articles in scientific publications per faculty;
- the ratio of international lecturers and foreign students.
