Ukraine has already obtained over $76 billion in military aid from its international partners, said U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd James Austin III during the 15th meeting of the Ramstein Group. According to Ukrinform, the partners provide weapons to contribute to the counteroffensive and reinforce the Ukrainian army.
The United States has approved another $2 billion in defense assistance packages. They include air defense systems, ammunition, and mine clearing equipment. Austin also said that Ukraine would soon receive Abrams battle tanks.
The Pentagon head called on the allies to continue to reinforce Ukrainian air defense to save people’s lives and protect the infrastructure. He also suggested that the supply of ammunition for the Ukrainian army’s offensive be increased.
Austin added that the United States would take part in training Ukrainian pilots. The training will be held at American air bases.
