In March 2021, consumer prices in Ukraine accelerated their growth to 1.7% compared to February 2021. Core inflation compared to February 2021 was 1.6%, from the beginning of the year—2.4%.
Compared to March 2020, prices increased by 8.5%, compared to December 2020 by 4.1%, according to the State Statistics Service.
At the end of the Q1 of 2021, compared to the same period last year, consumer inflation was 7.4%.
Among consumer goods and services, prices rose the most in March for: eggs (by 109.1% compared to March 2020), sugar (by 64.7%), and natural gas (by 63.6%).
The prices for vegetables (by 7%), footwear (by 5.5%), and clothes (by 4.7%) maximally reduced.
Note that consumer prices in March 2020 decreased by 0.8% compared to February 2020, and increased by 2.3% compared to March 2019.
In the Q1 of 2020, compared to the same period of the previous year, consumer inflation was 2.6%.
