Poland sends over 200 tanks and dozens of IFVs to Ukraine

Poland sents more than 200 T-72 tanks and several dozen infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to Ukraine as part of military aid. It is enough to form two brigades.

This was reported by Polish Radio.

According to Polish Deputy Defense Minister Wojciech Skurkiewicz, Warsaw has donated to Kyiv a total of 7 billion zlotys, almost 1.5 billion US dollars.

In addition to the tanks, Poland provided the following equipment:

  • several dozen infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs);
  • Soviet self-propelled howitzers 2C1 Gvozdika;
  • Grad multiple rocket launchers;
  • air-to-air missiles for the Su-27 and MiG-29 aircraft.

Supply of UAVs and other military equipment to Ukraine from Poland

In addition to heavy weapons, Poland supplied Ukraine with Polish-made WB Electronics drones. These are reconnaissance Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Ukrainians inform that they already have Polish Warmate UAVs, which are similar to American Switchblade.

Polish arsenals also delivered to Ukraine Perun portable anti-aircraft missile systems. Unofficially, in the Ukraine defenders' hands, Peruns have already shot down some russist helicopters. Poland also provided a lot of ammunition to Ukraine.

Earlier, the Czech Republic sent T-72 tanks to Ukraine. Poland has almost 400 T-72 tanks. Some of them were modernized in 2019 by the order of the Defense Ministry. The firepower of tanks was improved. The unmodernized tanks were first to be sent to Ukraine by Poland.
