One-year contract was signed with Vitrenko—Yermak

The contract with the new Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Yuriy Vitrenko, was signed for 12 months; the company’s Supervisory Board will be asked to continue work until a new transparent competition is held.

The Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak announced this at a meeting with the ambassadors of the G7 countries, Sweden, and the European Union. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Yulia Svyrydenko and Freelance Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President Tymofiy Mylovanov.

According to Yermak, the competition for selecting the Chairman of the Board will start in six months, and preparation for it will automatically begin immediately after the new composition of the Supervisory Board starts working.

An offer to the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz to continue working until a new competition subject to ensuring a constructive dialogue with the new Chairman of the company’s Board will be made at a meeting with the participation of government officials.

Context. The Supervisory Board (SB) of Naftogaz Group sent a letter to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. It says that the Supervisory Board members, who took part in the extraordinary meeting on April 30, submitted written notifications on the early termination of their powers. In accordance with the company's Charter, the termination of powers will take effect on May 14.

"I cannot trust the plans already drafted in the company, because at the end of the year they promise profits, but they get increasing losses," the new Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko, replied when asked what his first steps in the position would be. He said that it is necessary to carefully analyze and check everything, and then come out with draft decisions.
