Occupiers damaged Olyshivka underground gas storage facility

The Russian invaders shelled the village of Olyshivka in the Chernihiv region and damaged the Olyshivka underground gas storage (UGS) facility.

"Today, at about 9 a.m., during the shelling of the village of Olyshivka (Chernihiv region) by the Russian occupation forces, a shell hit the building on the territory of the underground gas storage facility. The pumping station for supplying methanol to the site of the gas collection point was damaged," Naftogaz of Ukraine reports.

The company noted that the staff of the gas storage was urgently evacuated. There are no victims or injured among the workers of the Olyshivka UGS facility.

Natural gas was removed from the system of the gas collection point site in order to avoid accidents. All external systems are disabled. Scheduled periodic monitoring and bypassing systems will continue at the facility.

Recall that on March 5, Ukrtransgaz was forced to stop the work of the Chervonopopivka underground gas storage facility in the Luhansk region. The reason was the hostilities in close vicinity of the facility.
